We operate on the global dental implant and abutment market.
Biometric OÜ was founded in 2016 with the aim of developing, producing and marketing a novel dental implant system.
The Biometric system will include implants, tools, and e-service.
Overview
Biometric will offer a product range developed by a clinical practitioner for clinical practitioners. The company’s founder Dr Timo Paberit has combined his wealth of clinical experience with the best available technological approaches to design the Biometric’s current product line to improve treatment outcomes for clinicians and their patients. Biometric’s implant system offers a unique competitive advantage due to the novel design of the mechanics of implant-abutment interfaces.
Biometric has set up a supply chain during the spring and summer of 2016. The company has contracted a supplier of high-quality titanium alloys (Zapp Precision Metals GmbH from Germany) and an ISO 13485- 2003 certified medical device manufacturer subscribing to Good Manufacturing Practices (YesBiotech from South Korea). We are piloting our products on the Estonian market since the second half of 2016. There are currently six clinics working with our products. Preliminary feedback from customers has been very positive.
The other key person at Biometric is Marko Lehes, who has wide experience of MedTec industries. His responsibilities cover business development, corporate governance, investor relations, and international partnerships for product development. Marko is an experienced manager of innovative biomedical companies, such as SelfD Technologie GmbH in Germany. He has been responsible for successful implementation of R&D projects with a cumulative value of around €15 million. Marko has a degree in Physics and an MBA in Entrepreneurship and technology management.
interfaces. Research results indicate that using an abutment
with a smaller diameter than the implant (platform switching) result in significantly less marginal bone loss. Also, utilization of implants of a smaller diameter at the implant-abutment interface is beneficial when implants are to be placed in the esthetic zone to avoid crestal bone loss. Our design leaves more space for bone formation, thus resulting in improved outcomes in terms of esthetic appearance.
• Superior mechanical characteristics,
• Long-lasting protection against corrosion, and
• Improved biocompatibility and osseointegration.
